Ha inizio oggi il 66° Meeting Bilderberg e si svolgerà presso l’Hotel Lingotto Congress di Torino. Per la quattro giorni dell’elite mondiale che da oggi e fino a domenica 10 giugno discuterà a porte chiuse su temi sensibili che riguardano principalmente l’economia mondiale è stata scelta quest’anno l’Italia. Sul tavolo del Bolderberg al 66° incontro annuale c’è l’ascesa populista in Europa. Fondato nel 1954, il Bilderberg Meeting è una conferenza annuale progettata per favorire il dialogo tra Europa e Nord America. Ogni anno, tra 120-140 leader politici ed esperti dell’industria, della finanza, del mondo accademico e dei media sono invitati a prendere parte alla conferenza. Circa due terzi dei partecipanti provengono dall’Europa e il resto dal Nord America; circa un quarto da politica e governo e il resto da altri campi. Si legge sul sito ufficiale Bilderberg: “La conferenza è un forum per discussioni informali sui principali problemi che affliggono il mondo. Gli incontri si svolgono secondo la Chatham House Rule, che stabilisce che i partecipanti sono liberi di utilizzare le informazioni ricevute, ma né l’identità né l’affiliazione degli oratori o di altri partecipanti possono essere rivelate.”
I principali punti all’ordine del giorno per questo incontro annuale sono:

– La sfida della disuguaglianza
– Il futuro del lavoro
– Intelligenza artificiale
– Gli Stati Uniti prima dei “midterms”
– Libero scambio
– Leadership mondiale degli Stati Uniti
– Russia
– Calcolo quantistico
– Arabia Saudita e Iran
– Il mondo “post-verità”
“Grazie alla natura privata dell’incontro, i partecipanti non sono vincolati dalle convenzioni del proprio ufficio o da posizioni prestabilite. In quanto tali, possono prendere tempo per ascoltare, riflettere e raccogliere informazioni. Non esiste un risultato desiderato, non vengono presi minuti e non viene scritto alcun rapporto. Inoltre, non vengono proposte risoluzioni, non vengono votati e non vengono emesse dichiarazioni politiche.” Queste le caratteristiche degli incontri secondo lo stesso club Bilderberg di cui fanno parte eccellenti nomi italiani. Tra questi anche John Elkan, erede Agnelli dell’impero FCA, e la giornalista Lilli Gruber. Come da tradizione del club, il costoso meeting che vede 130 persone ospiti del Lingotto Congress per quattro giorni dovrebbe essere pagato dai membri del comitato direttivo del Paese in cui si tiene il meeting. In questo caso quindi si dovrebbe trattare di John Elkan e Lilli Gruber.
Per l’evento è disposto l’impiego di forze dell’ordine al fine di tutelare la sicurezza dei partecipanti al meeting e l’ordine pubblico intorno all’Hotel Lingotto Congress che di suo segna un tutto esaurito fino a fine incontro. Il comitato verrà presieduto dal francese Henri Castries, dell’Institut Montaigne. Tra i 130 partecipanti di quest’anno ci sono nove italiani, tra i quali ovviamente John Elkan e Lilli Gruber. Tra i nove italiani ci sono anche il governatore della Banca d’Italia ed il direttore di Limes.
